The idea behind the image was to recreate a kind of botanical plate by using poles as if they were natural elements. Only the negative impressions of them remain, simplifying the object itself into a white outline. The background, on the other hand, consists of the digital superimposition of different photographic patterns depicting natural elements and landscapes, which combined together create a new texture that is the sum of several images. These elements are linked to the places to which the poles provides access, allowing people to hike to places of natural interest.
The work is a reflection on the possible coexistence of natural and artificial elements, imagining a harmonious fusion between the two. The poles become the connection point between the landscape and the explorer, becoming a meeting element between two worlds. Their shape, which assists human movement, induces a way of exploring the landscape that seeks to be in harmony and respectful of the environment.
The final image recalls the structure of ancient botanical plates, sometimes made with the use of negative photograms, creating a second association with the naturalistic element through the resumption of this compositional mode.
